stone-whispered, unnameable
i know you cannot name him
so you call him love.
i see it in the way you
cannot miss him
that's about all
you've saved for me. i haunt you
and you'll let me do it.
the way you were born
to suffer my darkness
and i was born
to curse your name.
the whole world goes on
unknowable
but your name is there
on my hand.
though scribbled and twisted
into an absence
i feel it here
it won't leave.
for the sake of storytelling
i cannot show them
(i don't think they'd know
what they're looking at anyway.)
but when they look
– if they choose to –
at the shape my body leaves
when i lift myself from this grave
they will see your name
i cannot erase it
they will see your name
and they will know.
